This innovative major combines the tools of financial analysis and planning with the rigor of mathematics to equip students to understand and provide financial solutions in the modern economy. On the one side are fundamental business, accounting, and finance courses with an emphasis on leadership and ethics, and on the other side a focus on applied mathematics, including calculus, probability and statistics, linear algebra, and basic programming, to prepare students for positions in actuarial science, commercial or investment banking, hedge funds, risk management, insurance, and corporate treasury.

Experiential learning is available through internships and PEAK experiences. These experiences complement the classroom and prepare students for their careers.

BUSN 390, Academic Internships taken for credit are 1-12 credits (up to 12 credits toward graduation; up to 3 credits toward completion of a Mathematical Finance major).
