Pharmacy Pre-Professional Program
Concordia College has partnered with the following institutions to create dual degree programs that result in earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College as well as a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the partnering institution.
- North Dakota State University
- Medical College of Wisconsin (pending Faculty Senate approval)
In these six- to seven-year programs, students spend their first three years at Concordia taking foundational courses in chemistry, biology, mathematics, and the liberal arts. Students then transfer to the partnering institution to complete the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. Upon successful completion of the program, students earn a B.A. in either Biosciences-Pharmacy Concentration or Biochemistry from Concordia and a PharmD from the partner school. Students in the NDSU partnership also receive a Bachelor or Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from NDSU as part of the dual-degree pathway.
The faculty advisors for the pre-pharmacy program are primarily members of the biology and chemistry departments. Advising includes assistance with course planning to meet both Concordia's Core and major requirements as well as the prerequisites for pharmacy school admission. Typical course schedules and additional guidance are available from these advisors.
