The School of Arts and Sciences is the largest and most diverse of Concordia’s three schools. Arts and Sciences is the cornerstone of a Concordia liberal arts education. Most courses in Concordia’s Core Curriculum (required of all graduates of the college) are offered by Arts and Sciences, so all Concordia students, including those studying in the Offutt School of Business and the Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions, are students in the School of Arts and Sciences.
The school offers instruction in the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts. Seventeen departments and eight interdisciplinary programs offer a wide array of majors and minors, including a number of pre-professional programs and several graduate programs. The School of Arts and Sciences offers a wide variety of undergraduate research, extracurricular and internship opportunities.
This diverse and vibrant school offers a wide-ranging education, uniting intellectual inquiry, artistic creation, global travel, service learning, and spiritual questioning. Theory and practice combine in Concordia’s School of Arts and Sciences to explore both perennial questions and pressing contemporary issues, preparing students for meaningful and effective lives of work and citizenship.
